AUTOPSY #9 Out of Print Editor Chris Doolan Brisbane QLD A masterful mix of 33-and-a-third-revs-per-second speed/thrash metal and horror videos, coupled with rock-solid views on censorshit and religon. This here issue reviews movies such as Intruder (uncut version!), Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and Evil Clutch (more strawberry flavoured shit from Troma!) Records include Orgy of Hatred, Spectral Incursion and a Brisband's demo tape. Zines, Extra Shit, Art, the most entertaining editorials on Earth from Chris Doolan and it's as cheap as a fart! Geddit! IN THE FLESH #3 Out of Print Editor Steve Court Box 1 Garageland, Focus, Princess Victoria Street, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 4BP, UK State of the art horror film zine making! It's Jason and Freddy free, and it bloody well shows, too! Features: Day of the Dead – the original script!; Real Life Horror – this time German sicko Peter Kurten; English Home Made Horror; Movie reviews including Santa Sangre (I can't wait to see that film); Violent Arcade/Video Games; A crossword; Troma; short fiction; book reviews (including Bare Bones – shits!) and much much much more! News reviews and stuff to make you spews!! FATAL VISIONS #8 Out of Print Editor Michael Helms $16 = six issues or 2 IRCs for sample issue. Is it still a zine? I don't know but in any case F.V. is the nearest and furtherest thing Australia has come to Fangoria. An essential item for all Aussie trash/horror cool dudes. Inside there's a Peter Jackson interview, and an overlong Cramps essay (but certainly not too long if you're a Cramper). Also the regular sections like cinema and video round-ups, another visit to the "Funky Chinatown Cinema" Hoiiii-yaaah! and some more Print in Trash (or vise versa). Speaking of books, they reviewed Joe R. Lansdale's The Drive-In before I could even get my hands on a copy for Skinned Alive! Shits! Not to mention another Bare Bones review! Last note: back issues are finally available, be quick. TOTALLY WICKED! #1-2 Out of Print Editors Fred Dog Graphics $1 cover price or write for further information We are not alone! Another Brisbane zine, this time a digest sized mini-comic that's actually quite clever. Most of the 'stories' are one-page jobs, which is good because they manage to cram in a lot. Issue one is 16 pages while issue two is 20. The art work is clean (most of the time) and well set out too. It's not a horror comic but so what? (Although I've been told one of the cartoonists is an avid Cronenberg fan.) I liked it; give it a try! The Queensland is one ball I'd like to see rolling. Support it/them ...us! |
